Weight = 149

Today I am going to start jogging with my friend Marla. I am a bit nervous. I don't want to make a fool of myself. Marla said we can start out slow. That is the only way I will be able to do it. I have a feeling Marla has more stamina than I.

Sunday Weigh - In

I weighed in this morning at 150. To sum up the week: I walked 2 1/2 miles on Tues, Weds, and Thurs, 2 miles on Friday, and 1 mile on Saturday. I drank more water than I usually do. I did not change my diet much.

This week I want to keep up the walking, add some exercises from my home gym and concentrate on my diet.

I have to find out what Matzo (sounds like meatso) soup is. I think it is a soy product, but I can not find it. I am probably spelling it wrong and looking in the wrong place at the store.

Day 6

My friend and I have been walking every morning. (3 days so far). We have been walking almost 3 miles up and down hills. Yesterday I got home and my butt cheeks hurt!! Today my shins hurt. Tomorrow I have to work so we are going to walk on our own. I know walking is going to help me tremendously. I really have to work on this diet thing.

Day 5

A friend and I walked 3 miles today.....up and down hills. It felt good to get out and get moving.

I didn't do so well on the diet part of things. I had two pieces of cake today. On the plus side, I did drink more water today than normal.

I guesss it will be one thing at a time.

Day 4

I am celebrating my birthday today with my family. Soooooo, I will be having a piece of cake. That will probably put that 4 lbs. right back on.

Day 3

I weighed-in today. I weigh 149.6. I lost 4 lbs. Most of that is probably clothing weight. I was dressed during the first weigh in, but not during the second.

I had a banana and a cup of coffee for breakfast. I am getting ready to have lunch. Not sure what yet.

Day 2

I woke up at 5:00 a.m. today to get ready for work. I ran by McDonalds and picked up an unsweet ice tea. I had a banana around 9:00 a.m. and a fiber one bar (thanks Marla) at about 12:30. I ate a bowl of green beans at 5:00 and I am getting ready to eat 2 egg rolls in about 15 minutes (baked, not fried). I have a feeling I am not going to be able to get in 3 regular meals a day on days that I work. I will probably snack all day long.

I am not getting enough water in yet. I didn't drink any today. I just had that one ice tea. So I will have to work on that. I also don't want to eat after 7 pm and here I am getting ready to eat 2 egg rolls.

Tomorrow I will try harder.........promise!

Day 1




Well, it is 8:30 a.m. Time to start my transformation. I am going out to the kitchen and make me some oat meal. I think I will have a cup of coffee with it. I am excited about getting this diet started.




I am going to post a photo of me taken in Virginia Beach on the 2nd of August. I will use this as my "before" shot, since the kids were too embarrassed for me to use my real "before" shot.

About me

I am 38 years old. I am not obese by any means, but I am a bit over weight. I weigh 153 lbs. I am 5'3 inches short. Tomorrow I will start to live a healthy lifestyle. I am going to try to loose weight and gain muscle by dieting and exercising.

My husband has challenged me to a weight loss competition between him and I. We are going to weigh in every Sunday. We gave ourselves until Jan 1, 2009 to get ourselves healthy. (that's 4 months).

I am going to journal my progress. My husband is not.
